Gentle, Individualised Care...

TREATMENT FOR CHILDREN (Up to 12 Years Old)
Parents often worry that children won't tolerate acupuncture, but with the right approach, it can be gentle and nearly painless. I adapt my techniques to ensure comfort, especially for children who may feel anxious or sensitive.
In addition, acupuncture is more than just needles. There are a variety of non-needle methods that offer the same benefits.
Common conditions parents seek help for younger children include Colic, Food intolerances and Digestive issues, Sleep problems, Bed-wetting at a later age, Skin and ear conditions, Asthma, ADD/ADHD, and High-functioning autism.

TREATMENT FOR TEENS (13 to 18 Years Old)
The teenage years are filled with significant changes — physically, emotionally, and mentally. Acupuncture can be a powerful ally in helping teens manage:
Acne and skin conditions, Anxiety and depression, Digestive issues, Headaches and migraines, Painful periods and menstrual issues, Sleep disturbances
Beyond treating specific symptoms, acupuncture also supports teens through the challenges of adolescence. It can be a gentle way to navigate the ups and downs of growing up, enhancing both physical and emotional well-being.
Non-Needle Technique
Acupuncture includes a range of non-needle techniques that offer the same therapeutic benefits as traditional needle-based treatments, providing a gentle and effective alternative.

Common Questions & Info for Teens
What to Expect During Treatment
During your first visit, I will take the time to ask about your concerns and health history. I will check your pulse and examine your tongue to help with diagnosis. You will be informed at each stage of the treatment process, ensuring you feel comfortable every step of the way. If acupuncture needles are used, they will be inserted gently, often for just a brief time.
Most acupuncture points are located on the lower arms and legs, so it is ideal to wear loose clothing that can easily be rolled up. If I need to access other areas, such as your back or torso, I will explain and seek your consent beforehand. Should there be an area you would prefer to avoid needles, I can always select alternative points for treatment.
Building Trust and Rapport
Acupuncture does not require long conversations, but if you ever feel like talking, I am here to listen. I respect your privacy, and everything we discuss stays between us, except if there are concerns about your safety. I aim to create a safe space where you feel supported and understood.
Follow-up Sessions
As we continue with your treatments, the plan will evolve according to your changing needs. I will adjust the acupuncture points, incorporate different techniques, and modify the approach based on your feedback. Your parent will stay for the first visit, but you can choose whether they stay for future sessions.
